Walkabout IX: Incan Adventure
April 15-May 1, 2019
Peru
When you tell someone you're going to Peru, the first question that always gets asked is, "Are you going to Machu Picchu?" The answer, of course, is 'yes', and the Incan citadel is indeed as awe-inspiring as you've been told. But there's so much more to this well-traveled South American country that you'd be cheating yourself if you confined yourself to the Sacred Valley. I was able to see a large portion of it, thanks to a bus service called Peru Hop, that allowed me to experience Lima, Paracas, the Huacachina oasis, the Nazca Lines, the beautiful White City of Arequipa, Puno and Lake Titicaca, Ollantaytambo, Cuzco, and of course, Machu Picchu. Along the way, the culture, the history, the nature, the food, the Pisco, and the friendly people of this beautiful country made this an incredible two weeks of travel.
