Here are some of the sites I use to dream, plan and go!

GOOGLE FLIGHTS

A great place to dream, explore, and eventually book. Can I get to Tblisi from here? How long does it take to get to Hong Kong? Is it cheaper to fly out of ORF or RDU? All those answers and more are right here.

ROME 2 RIO

Planes, trains, automobiles, or boats. If you're trying to get from Barcelona to Budapest or from Oslo to Orlando, this site will tell you how to get there and how much it costs.

HOSTELWORLD

We all know hostels are less expensive than hotels, but as I said here, I actually enjoy staying in them more than hotels. This is a great place to find the ones that are clean and comfortable

INTREPID TRAVEL

Small group adventures to just about anywhere you want to go on the planet. I used them for Cuba and Morocco, and have no complaints.

G ADVENTURES

A highly-rated small-group tour company that has been taking people globetrotting for more than 25 years.

WANDERING EARL

One of my favorite travel bloggers conducts his own tours about six times a year. I've heard great things and am hoping the schedule works out to go on one soon.

SMART TRAVELER

The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) allows Americans traveling or living abroad to get updates on security or health issues in their destination countriies.

WORLD NOMADS

Travel insurance is always a good idea for foreign trips. This company is one of the best ones out there.

TROVER

Share your stunning travel photos and be inspired by other people's trips. It's like Instagram for nomads.
