MY SPAIN & PORTUGAL ITINERARY

Here's how I did Spain & Portugal over a six day trip.

Thursday, February 5 - Arrive into Madrid. Getting to the central plaza was fairly easy, finding my hostel was not. Anyway, I have a quick lunch, explore a nearby park, take a long nap, and then off to get some tapas among cold, wind, and lightly falling snow.

Friday, February 6 - A little solo exploration of Madrid, including a visit to the Prado museum. Meet up with some friends in town for a dinner at the world's oldest restaurant, el Sobrino de Botin, open since 1725.

Saturday, February 7 - More exploration of Madrid, this time with friends.

Sunday, February 8 - Spend the morning exploring the El Rastro flea market. Then it's off to the airport for the quick flight to Lisbon. Settle in at the hostel, do a little exploring of Lisbon by tram, then join some hostel folk for an evening Fado performance in the Restelo neighborhood.

Monday, February 9 - Join a hostel-organized day trip to visit the castles of Sintra, as well as Cascais and Cabo Del Roca, the westernmost point on the European mainland.

Tuesday, February 10 - A walking tour of the Alfalma neighborhood of Lisbon, and a great evening at another Fedo performance.

Wednesday, February 11 - Up early for the flight back home.
